Permissibilty of finding out about other ways/approaches to understanding/comprehending spirituality?

I believe that finding about other ways/approaches to understanding/comprehending that which is Sublime is very important for developing and deepening one’s spirituality.

Why? Because, the Reality of the Sublime Being transcends and is too overwhelming for the human mind to comprehend in its entirety. God does not, and logically, cannot be understood by beings whose perception is imperfect. It is like trying to explain the totality and complexity of a human being to an ant. The ant is just not capable of understanding the human being, there is just not the language to explain the Arts, Culture, Philosophy of humans to ants.

Without doubt, our voyages of exploration will necessarily force one to question things that we have regarded with certainty. But it is necessary to go down this path for how can one believe until one has doubted and questioned. Anyway those beliefs are not worth holding that can not withstand the test of questioning. If my faith is so precarious that the whole edifice would come crumbling down if questioned then it was based on blind faith.

What do you do – do you not explore other pathways? Do you question? Do you accept second-belief sets without questioning and inquiring?

What is the definition and basis of an atheists spirituality?

Don’t ask me for my definition and basis of spirituality. I am losing 5 points asking this question because I want to know the definition and basis of an atheists spirituality. Don’t even come close to berating or demeaning me either, as you have no idea of where I am coming from, and I don’t have to tell you. I simply want my main question, the one you clicked on, answered. If you can’t answer the main question, don’t waste my time.
You have all wasted my time up to this point. How can someone come here and claim he is an atheist and be a top contributor of religion and spirituality when he has neither religion or spirituality.

why is it that under religion and spirituality?

on every question i ask, even if it has NOTHING to do with the Christian bible or Christianity, i get tons of answers about the bible and Christianity?
when i ask legitimate questions about spirituality or a different relgilion, i get christian answers sometimes even quoting the bible. is this thing all Christians or what?

What is the true reason you have spirituality in your life?

I am just curious as to why you practice spirituality. I am fairly new to this concept. I have recently found it through the fellowship of AA and NA. In my groups we follow the basic principles of turning our will and lives over to the care of God, praying for knowledge of his will for us and to have the power to carry that out. To live a life that demands rigorous honesty, patience, acceptance, open mindedness, tolerance and understanding. We ask that God remove all our defects of character, our shortcomings and to be free from the bondage of self seeking behavior. It is only then that we can maintain sobriety and achieve true inner peace by practicing these principals in all our daily affairs. We try to carry this message to anyone that may be suffering and asks for help. We also take daily inventory of ourselves and when we are wrong we must promptly admit it.

So in short our goal is to achieve true inner peace without the use of drugs and alcohol and to be a better people.

Can you get something of an experience similar to spirituality from doing the deed? I think sex counts as a union or physical oneness and desire is simply seeking it. Isn’t pleasure an intrinsic human need and right?
